T3 Fiber Optic Modem Features Diagnostics, Redundancy & User Benefits

01/22/1998

Featuring extensive diagnostics, optical/power redundancy and user benefits, the TC1680 T3 Fiber Optic Modem provides a point-to-point high speed data link between two DS3 devices. It is ideal for a variety of applications including extending the point of presence from Telco demarcation points, ATM nodes or linking T3 multiplexers.

Diagnostics include built-in self test, link verification test, and a dry contact for remote alarm. Power redundancy is standard, optical redundancy is optional. User benefits include low power consumption (less than 0.5W), virtually no jitter (because the signal is re-timed at the remote end), and overall small size (2.6" X 7" X 10").

The TC1680 Fiber Optic Modems transmits standard T3 (44.736M) signals at distances up to 100 km. It is compatible with B3ZS (T3) coded data streams and conforms with all popular applicable standards.

The TC1680 is available 850/1300nm multimode, 1300nm single mode, and is compatible with all popular types and sizes of fiber optic cable. Fiber connectors are ST; FC or SC are optional. Electrical connector is BNC. Input power is 12, -24, -48VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube
