Fiber Multi-Drop Modem for Bus Topology Features Multiple Interfaces and Diagnostics

01/22/1998

Featuring flexible interfaces and extensive diagnostics, the TC2200 is a Multi-Drop Fiber Optic Modem for interconnecting Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a Bus Topology. It is ideal for most Process Control Network applications including SCADA, Traffic Control and Security.

The TC2200 supports any mix or match of RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 (2- or 4-wire) interfaces and asynchronous data rates up to38.4 Kbps. Both single mode and multimode versions (850/1300nm) are available. It includes a built-in anti-streaming function to prevent a failed slave unit from seizing the channel.

Diagnostics are extensive and varied. Each TC2200 has a built-in link monitoring function. Electrical and optical signal status can be monitored through LED indicators on the panel. Local loopback, remote loopback and the signal generator can be activated by DIP switches on the panel. Power is 9 to 12 VDC, 24 VDC, 48 VDC; 115/230VAC is optional with an external power cube. Fiber optic connectors are ST or FC. Electrical connectors are DB25 female.
