High Speed Modem Supports Self-Healing Ring

09/28/1999

The new TC2400 is a two-channel Multi-Drop Fiber Optic Modem specifically designed for self-healing ring fiber optic communications networks requiring high data rates.

The TC2400 is ideal for higher speed applications such as digitized video. It also supports lower speed applications include linking Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) to a Host controller or CPU in SCADA, Traffic Control, Industrial Process Control and Security Networks.

The TC2400’s Self-Healing Ring capability is sophisticated and automatically re-routes any type of equipment or cable failure, upstream or downstream, to insure uninterrupted operation. "Anti-Streaming" capability is standard.

The TC2400’s first channel supports data rates to 1 Mbps, the second channel to 256 Kbps. RS-232 data rates are limited to 120K. Electrical interfaces can be either RS-232 or RS-485. The RS-485 electrical port can be multi-dropped.

Diagnostics are extensive and include 15 LEDs for monitoring Power, Data Transmission and Self-Healing Ring functions. Standard temperature range is -10oC to 50oC. A special version (TC2400T) is available for extreme temperature applications (-20oC to 70oC).
