IP Transition Workshop
Nick Lee joined a 2-part panel discussion on technical matters that need to be considered to overcome the move from TDM to IP and utility migration plans.
Speakers included representatives from SEL, RFL, Power System Engineering, Burns & McDonnell, ECI Telecom, FAE Telecom, Nebraska Public Power (NPPD) and Northeast Iowa Power Co-Op (NIPCO).
Managing Your Utility Telecom Network like a Service Provider
Marc Scheitler from NIPCO presented on NIPCO’s past, present, and future networks, the numerous technical considerations, service requirements and customer communications as they expand their network and take on more customers.

IP Migration
We featured our IP Migration solution alongside our Leased Line Replacement demo.
The Leased Line Replacement solution specializes in replacing copper lines using the JumboSwitch 4-wire Analog to IP/Ethernet card or replacing T1 lines with the JumboSwitch T1/E1 over IP card.
Our Teleprotection over IP demo featured our 10G JumboSwitch solution as the backbone carrying RS-232 Mirrored Bits between SEL 311-C relays – showing a 4ms latency on the scope above. This solution uses low-latency TDM over IP/Ethernet technology and runs on a CE2.0 based backbone.
