IRVINE, CA ----Available in a temperature-hardened version for harsh environments, the new Fiber Optic Ethernet Switch from TC Communications supports distances up to 100km.

The TC3705 Fiber Optic Ethernet Switch provides four 10/100M Auto-Sensing UTP ports and one fiber optic 100Base-FX port. It is available multimode or single mode (1300/1550nm) and supports full or half-duplex operation.

The TC3705 is available in three temperature versions. The standard version supports temperature ranges from -10^oC to 50^oC; the “Hi-Temp” version supports ranges from -20^oC to 70^oC; and, the “Hardened” version supports ranges from -40^oC to 80^oC and exceeds all pertinent environmental and temperature specifications for Utility and Traffic Control environments.

Because the TC3705 is based on the latest switching technology it eliminates most congestion problems, especially those related to the contention-orientated Ethernet CSMA/CD protocol. As a result, it creates efficient sub-divided switched LANs to provide full and transparent bandwidth for each segment.
