Ethernet-over-PDH Gateway Adds T1, E1, T3 & E3 Network Connectivity Options
03/02/2010A new high performance Ethernet-over-PDH Gateway that connects JumboSwitch Industrial Gigabit Ethernet Multi-service nodes using T1/E1 or T3/E3 circuits has been added to TC Communication’s JumboSwitch® product family.
The model TC3844 Ethernet-over-PDH Gateway converts JumboSwitch Ethernet data into framed or unframed T1/E1 or T3/E3 circuits offered by service providers, microwave radio links, or existing SONET/SDH rings.
With the TC3844, JumboSwitch multiservice applications can now be deployed in hard-to-reach or remote sites where using fiber is not an option. It can also provide redundant paths to fiber connections between JumboSwitch nodes for mission critical applications.
Key features include Priority Labeling (IEEE 801.p QoS) with four queues and VLAN Tagging. Additional features include Fault Management, Auto-Negotiation with Flow Control, Statistics Monitoring, Network Time Protocol, Remote Firmware Upgrade and Temperature and Power Monitoring.
An extreme temperature (-40°C to +80°C) version is optional and complies with pertinent industry and environmental standards including IEC 61850-3, IEEE1613 & NEMA TS-2.
