TC Announces JumboSwitchTM
The JumboSwitch is
TC's new flagship Gigabit Ethernet Multi-Service Access Platform.
The JumboSwitch substantially reduces capital expenditures by
maximizing bandwidth usage and eliminating unnecessary hardware
hierarchies. And, compared to SONET/SDH solutions, users will
be pleasantly surprised by how much it reduces operational
expenditures.
The JumboSwitch gives users the best of both TDM and Ethernet/IP
without having to compromise on the project requirements.
TC Upgrades Corporate Headquarters Building
In November, TC
finished a major $1 million upgrade to its 40,000 square foot
headquarters building in Irvine, California. Production,
Engineering, Sales and Administration are now located in the main
headquarters building.
Note that TC's mailing address is now 17881 Cartwright Rd., Irvine,
CA 92614. The previous address was 17575 Cartwright Rd.
Ethernet & T1/E1 Mux Offers 100M of Ethernet Bandwidth
The Model
TC8516
Ethernet & T1/E1 fiber multiplexer
supports non-blocking full 100Mbps
bandwidth
on the Ethernet port. Many other vendor models offer
significantly less than 10M of actual throughput. The TC8516
multiplexes 8 or 16 channels of T1/E1, one 10/100 Ethernet and,
optionally, four RS-232 channels over single mode (1300/1550nm)
fiber. It is available in an extreme temperature version -20°
to 70°.
Integrated Ethernet/T1-E1/Telephone/Serial Multiplexers
Three fiber optic multiplexers
combine to multiplex various combinations of Ethernet, T1, E1,
Telephone & RS-232/422 channels over single mode (1300/1550nm) or
multimode fiber (1300/1550nm). These muxes support distances to
more than 100 km and offer a two-way, “one fiber” communication
option to maximize fiber cable usage. Optional redundant power and
optics include automatic switchover for maximum reliability.
The TC8510
Ethernet multiplexes one-to-four T1/E1 or Serial Data channels and a
10/100M Ethernet. The TC8520 multiplexes
2-wire Analog POTS or 2/4-wire 600 Ohm Analog, 1 Ch. 10/100
Ethernet. The TC8530 multiplexes one
10/100 Ethernet channel and 4 to 12 channels of RS-232, RS-422, TTL,
or Dry Contact.
RS-232/485-to-Ethernet Converter Supports Poll/Response
Communications
Ideal for Power
Utilities, DOT's, Waste Treatment Plants, Railroads, Refineries, and
other entities that frequently use SCADA systems, the Model
TC3420 Serial-to-Ethernet Converter
supports point-to-multipoint (poll/response) communications.
It is transparent to data or communications protocols and can be
configured in bus, ring or redundant ring topologies. The
TC3400 Series Converters converts RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 (4-wire)
asynchronous data to packets for point-to-point transmission.
Spanish
Web Site Expanded
The TC Communications
Web Site is now available in Spanish.
TC products are available in nearly every country in which

Telephone
Extenders Come in Three Flavors
TC
offers four types of fiber optic telephone extenders, one modem
(TC1900) and two data/telephone multiplexers (TC8800 & TC8800S)
and one telephone/Ethernet multiplexer.
The
TC1900/1901/1910
models of the “Quick-Talk” Telephone Extender
can turn an Ethernet, fiber optic network or RS-232 circuit into a voice network
simply by plugging a telephone set into an RJ-11 connector.
The
TC8520 multiplexes various combinations of 2-Wire Analog POTS;
RS-232, RS-422, TTL or Dry Contacts; and, one channel of 10/100
Ethernet over single mode (1300/1550nm) or multimode (1300/1550)
fiber. It supports distances to more than 100km and offers a
"two-way, one fiber" option to maximize fiber cable usage.
Optional redundant power and optics include automatic switchover in
the event of a cable or device failure for maximum reliability.
The
TC8800 is a 4-to-28 channel telephone and
data fiber optic multiplexer that extends multiple telephone lines and
data channels to remote sites such as other buildings in campus
networks. In many applications the TC8800 can replace expensive
channel banks.
The
new “Data-Talker” (TC8800S) is a
Standalone 4-to-8 channel Telephone and Data fiber optic multiplexer.
It supports distances up to 80km over single mode fiber, 4km
over multimode fiber.
TC Specializes in
Single Mode and Long Distance Ethernet
Special
Ethernet connectivity can be challenging.
That is why TC offers special products for special
applications. Using a
laser/1550nm option, several Ethernet products can go up to 100
kilometers.
Here
is a quick look at the distance capabilities of selected TC Ethernet
products:
·
100Base-Tx-to-Fiber Ethernet Converter (TC3200)
- Distances to
100km
·
Transceivers (TC3100)
- Distances to 30
km
·
Multimode-to-Single Mode Converters (TC3000
& 3007) - Distances
to 100km
“Hot Swappable” 4U
Chassis Available
The
TC8104 is a 32-Channel Fiber Optic Multiplexer that features the
ability to remove or replace chassis cards at any time (hot-swappable)
without disrupting power or signal integrity.
It supports most popular interfaces including RS-232, RS-422,
RS-485 (2- and 4-wire), 2-way Intercom, Dry Contact Relays and TTL.
Analog/Intercom
Mux Enhanced
The recently enhanced TC8000
is a highly specialized 4- to 24-Channel Analog/Intercom Fiber Optic
Multiplexer that supports voice bandwidths from 300Hz to 3.4 KHz.
It is frequently used to link voice communication devices in
telecommunications and SCADA environments.
The TC8000
provides intercom and analog interfaces in 4-channel increments.
The intercom interface is for 4-wire voice communication
(handsets) and the analog interface is 600 Ohm transformer coupled.
It is typically used for Frequency Shift Key (FSK)
applications. Distances to 30km are typical over single mode fiber, 4
km over multimode fiber.
