TC2850
Multi-Drop Fiber Multiplexer w/Virtual Channel Mapping

Intended for self-healing ring topologies in SCADA, Traffic Control, Process Control & Oil & Gas networks, the TC2850 Multi Drop Fiber Optic Multiplexer features the benefits of Virtual Channel Mapping. It supports RS232, RS422 & RS485 (2/4-wire) electrical interfaces.

Channel Mapping enables users to configure specific channels from the Master to designated Slave units on a fiber ring network. For example, it provides two independent communications networks within one self-healing ring topology, enables cost savings through flexible channel configurations and supports faster polling rates.

The TC2850 is ideal for virtual point-to-point configurations, such as a dedicated telephone circuit, within a redundant or self-healing ring network. It is also used in larger networks with multiple port SCADA Host Controllers to speed up polling times.

Features
  • Virtual Channel Mapping (VCM) Enables Concurrent Applications, Cost-Saving Benefits & Reduces Polling Time
  • Sophisticated Self-Healing Ring
  • All Digital Design

  • Built-In Power Redundancy
  • Optical Loop Integrity Test
  • Local Dry Contact Alarm Relay
  • Rackmount or Standalone
Applications

Because the TC2850 effectively enables two independent communications networks in one self-healing ring topology, it can be used to run multiple applications concurrently. For example, it enables virtual pointto- point configurations, such as a dedicated telephone circuit, within a Self-Healing Ring network (See diagram on back page).

It is also used in larger networks, with multiple port SCADA Host Controllers, to speed up polling times. Typical application environments include SCADA, Traffic Control, Process Control, Security, Oil & Gas, and Energy Management.
