RS232 Fiber Optic Modem w/ Handshaking ("Pocket Rocket"; async)

The TC1200 3-channel asynchronous RS 232 Fiber Optic Modem offers the versatility of linking three data communications devices over a single duplex fiber or one device with bi-directional control signals. It functions as a 3-channel multiplexer by using control signal channels as data channels.

Its multiplexing capability makes the TC1200 unusually cost effective for network connectivity. Typical applications include linking remote terminals or printers to host computers, tail circuits to existing multiplexers and extending data communications links.

A member of the ''Pocket Rocket'' fiber optic modem series, the TC1200 provides up to five bi-directional control (or handshake) signals (RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR and CD). It is compatible with both single and multimode fiber, supports data rates up to 120 Kbps and offers local and remote loopback.

Applications
